Description

Origin: Picked in Spring 2009 at an altitude between 1300m – 1800m in Yunnan, China.

This Shu PuErh has aged and matured extremely well. It has become deep, mellow, smooth and wise. An excellent tea for going deep into meditation.
 

Tasting Notes

Dry Leaf – Eyes: Orange-red-brown, medium, tighter twisted, with tips.

Wet Leaf – Nose: Mature mahogany wood, leather-bound books, earthy undergrowth with a smoky sweet spiciness.

Taste – Mouth: Milk biscuits dunked in creamy dark malt. Leather, earthiness, miswak, ending in a spicy sweetness.

Texture – Mouth: Creamy and smooth. Mineral and spicy.

Liquor – Eyes: A dark rich redness.

Tea Qi

A perfect tea for a deep and powerful meditation. Whole body pulses with a pleasurable warmness. A sense of stillness or emptiness in the lower dantian. Cooling in the joints. A powerful journey inwards.

 

Brewing Suggestions

Best brewed Gong Fu style. You can use the brewing guide below as a good starting point. To experiment we recommend keeping the water temperature as constant as possible but varying steeping time to suit your tastes.

Gong Fu Cha: 4g per 90ml of water. Water temperature 99 C. First steeping 22 seconds.  Each subsequent steeping + 5 seconds.
