Description
Origin: Picked during March at altitudes around 1000m in Guangxi, China. Picking is predominately one bud or one bud one leaf.
Bao Hao Yin Zhen is considered to be the highest grade of white tea. Made exclusively from the leaf buds in very early spring before they have had the chance to turn mature into leaves. Traditionally, the rare harvest of these first flush tea buds were so prized, they were exclusively reserved for the Chinese Imperial Family.
Dry Leaf – Eyes: Bright, silvery-green, pure long leaf buds covered in a delicate silver down.
Wet Leaf – Nose: Intense white flower meadows, summer hay bales, a tantalising promise of fruity white nectarine.
Taste – Mouth: Sweet grass syrup, white flower nectar, icing sugar frosted honeydew.
Texture – Mouth: Thick, luxurious, velvety and coating. Sweet, pure, clean with an intense, persistent, lingering sweetness.
Liquor – Eyes: Light, clear silvery gold.
