Origin: Picked in March 2020 in Yunnan, China.

This black tea comes from 80 year old trees growing in Yunnan. Yunnan is acknowledged as the birth place of tea and is home to some of the most ancient tea forests.

This Yunnan Pure Gold is made almost exclusively from the prized buds of the tea trees and is considered to be the finest tea in it’s family.

 

Tasting Notes
Dry Leaf – Eyes: Coiled tawny buds with flecks of gold and copper. Covered with a light furry down of fine bud hair.

Wet Leaf – Nose: Malted milkshake, dark honey, chocolate and black forest fruit.

Taste – Mouth: Luxurious toffee caramel, dark chocolate and malty biscuits.

Texture – Mouth: Velvety, thick, comforting and long lasting.

Liquor – Eyes: Golden dark amber.

Brewing Suggestions
Best brewed quickly Gong Fu style. You can use the brewing guide below as a good starting point. To experiment we recommend keeping the water temperature as constant as possible but varying steeping time to suit your tastes.

Gong Fu Cha: 3g per 90ml of water. Water temperature 90 C. First steeping 15 seconds.  Each subsequent steeping + 5 seconds.
